Prospect Park Smorgasburg Roundup

One of my favorite things to do over summer weekends is visit Smorgasburg in Prospect Park. It’s an area in the park where a number of food vendors set up shop and sell their creations. Every year there’s at least one new vendor that’s created a unique, Instagram-able delicacy. In years past it was the raindrop cake and the ramen burger. Although yummy, I’m sharing with you my all time faves from this buzzy, seasonal, outdoor foodie market.

Duck Season

Duck Season has been around the block for a few years now, but I never get tired of their perfectly salted, crispy duck breast. They also have duck fat fries and one of their most popular items is the duck poutine. Umm, yum

Kokus

Kokus is a new guy in town. I actually hadn’t seen them all summer, but then suddenly this allergen free, coconut soft serve was all the rage. Their goal is to serve up allergen friendly, superfood filled, healthful ice cream. #WIN!

For an extra $2 you can get it all in a coconut bowl (worth it).

Rockville Market Farm

These guys come all the way from Vermont to sell their awesome food every weekend. There are a couple donut vendors at Smorgasburg, but this one take the cake (donut) for me. Anything sweet potato is always a winner.

Noodle Lane

Now, I love peanut noodles, but my husband LOOOVVEESS them. These noodles from Noodle Lane are super spicy (even when you ask for just a little spice). They are definitely NOT low-histamine, but they are worth just a nibble.

Mission Ceviche

Last, but definitely not least, Mission Ceviche. This is the vendor that I look for every time I go to Smorgasburg. The fish is so fresh, and the toppings on the ceviche are perfect. it’s light, citrus-y, and oh so good. I truly save up all my histamine points (not a thing), just so I can dive face first into this dish.

When I’ve eaten all the goodies out of the bowl, I then drink the juice. Yes, a little gross. No, I will not stop. Judge me if you must 😉

Do you have any favorite food stands or trucks in your area? I’d love to hear about them!

P.S. Let’s hear it for my husband the hand model!
