When I was younger, I used to wake up from a nap at 9 PM feeling refreshed and ready for a night out. The night would include dinner around 10 PM, bars and likely late night dancing. I’m not sure when it happened or really how, but now I look at the clock at 9 PM and think, “Is it too early to go to bed?”
I’m not ashamed of the way my life has changed. I have a wonderful husband, adorable dog and a fulfilling life. But, every now and then I look back and think… WHAT WAS I THINKING? 10 PM DINNER? WHO ARE YOU? BEYONCE?!
Anyway, I’ve swapped out my tequila for tea. My favorite go-to night time drink has become turmeric golden milk. It’s simple to make and so good for you.
Turmeric supports digestion by alleviating inflammation in the digestive system. It also boosts the immune system and has been said to offer protection from some types of cancer. Soooooo, drink up!
Turmeric Golden Milk

- 1.5 cups hemp milk or any other dairy free milk of your choice
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 knob of ginger, chopped (about 1/2 inch piece)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Instructions
Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan and bring to boil, whisking occasionally
Reduce heat and simmer for 4 minutes - continue to whisk
Remove from heat, pour into mug and enjoy immediately
