Four years ago, on February 16, I married this guy!…
Our Story:
Steven was the very first person I met at college. It was move-in day and my parents and I pulled up behind his car. It turned out we were living in the same Freshman dorm, from hometowns next to each other, both liked pizza… and that’s where the similarities stopped.
Steven did his college thang while I did mine. We ended up at the same parties, had some of the same friends (my best friend even lived with Steven), but years went by until we became good friends… and as they say, the rest was history!
…in a nut shell, we started dating, moved to NYC together and got married… the end.
Just kidding, there’s so much awesomeness to the story, but to keep it quick I’ll get to the good stuff…
The Proposal:
One weekday night I came home to photos tacked up across our living room that showed the story of our relationship… starting with a picture of that very same car we met next to eight years earlier.
The Wedding:
Having lived in NYC for a number of years we decided that we wanted a quintessential New York City wedding – snow storm and all (I’ll get to that in a minute).
We chose to have our wedding at the Yale Club, which had all the charm and elegance we were looking for. We also chose to get married during the month of February, which, if you’re familiar with New York, is the coldest and snowy-est month on the calendar.
So, there we were, February 15, 2014, one day away from the big day, with a blizzard bearing down on us. Amazingly, by the time of “I Do”, the snow had stopped, the streets we cleared, and everyone made it to the wedding!
The ceremony was gorgeous, the band was amazing, and the food was delicious! Check out some of the highlights of the day below.
